Tonyo Times News 2011
These are all the news bits that appeared on the main slot of the Tonyo Times homepage. All saved in a neat little archive. There's going to be many more in 2012, so check out what's going on in the new pages, and always make sure you stay up to date with Tonyo Times.
Happy New Year (27th December 2011)
Here's my final update for the year 2011. No more blogs until January 2012, but maybe a couple of Randomacious videos, and I'll be sure to film something ready for the new year.
Coming in 2012, as you might be able to already see the changes I've made to the website if you're a regular here. I'll be doing quite a bit more in 2012. My characters will have more focus with Jeremy Ranfection doing Jeremy's Joypad, and a new character will be popping up sometime in January to scare the crap out of you.
I'll be starting up my old Chick Awards again. If you ever followed my old stuff a few years back, you'll know I used to harass celebrities for their autograph and send them a little fluffy chicken. I got a few, so a new page will be dedicated to that. There's so much going on.
There's loads more to come, but before then, have fun on New Year's Night. Have a lot of laughs and see you in the brand new year of 2012. Peace out.

Merry Christmas Everyone
Merry Christmas everyone, I hope you all get the presents you want, a very nice dinner with no arguments, and peace and quiet through the festive season. I love Christmas so I want everyone to be happy, be good to each other, and make sure we go into 2012 all feeling the best we can.
Tonyo Times will be changing a little for the new year, with a brand new look, brand new video series', and Team Times will be looking at new projects to hopefully become a success from 2012. Have a good Christmas peeps.

Christmas Is Coming
Are you ready for Christmas? It's pretty much here. Everyone's getting ready for the Doctor Who Christmas Special, all the families who eat meat have become guilty of being part of the turkey massacre, and we're all skint because we've bought that many presents. If you've not done any of this, you're not ready!
2012.. the end of the world, gets ever closer. I'll be changing quite a lot on Tonyo Times come January, including a big update of the website and a new look. Might as well go out with a bang when the world goes... bang. Get ready.

Worksop's Town at ChristmasAt first glance, the Christmas lights in Worksop look alright. Starting at the top of town with the tree, it seems promising. Get to Victoria Square, you're in for a treat... if it was the summer. Worksop Council, you have let us down this year. If I remember, I'll be promoting Worksop next year to get some more lights in shops, and I'll be wanting the Council to bring more colour to the town. Let's not be ashamed though, we're still going to have a Merry Christmas. I know this country is cutting back, but come on, I know this town can do better.

Team Times Hits 100 SubsI'd like to thank all the subscribers to the Team Times channel for supporting our work. We just hit 100 subscribers which is really epic. I wanted to see us hit 100 before the next year and after a sudden boost this week, we got to a century. Now then, how about a thousand? ;)
Check out Sam's new video which is freaky as hell. You won't be prepared to see this. 26th November 2011 |
Santa Claus Returns
It's been a while since Santa emptied his sack, so starting from 1st of December all the way up to Christmas Day, Santa makes his return to Tonyo Times. He will be doing special daily Advent videos on Team Times with his Christmas Alphabet. Knowing Santa, it won't be what you expect.
Seeing as Christmas will be hitting Worksop, I will be going through town again filming all the lights. I might even try and go through town in the afternoon to see what the shops looks like, but that might be later in December if I get to do it. I'll also be heading to Sheffield to check their lights out, and Meadowhall when I do a spot of present shopping.. and be told that I can't film there because I might be a terrorist.
Christmas is pretty close now. I hope you've got your Christmas lists ready because Santa wants to know what you like, so he can tell you 'NO'. Haha.

The Third Coming
This week, the long awaited third Saints Row game will be released. This will be a moment where my life goes bye bye for a while. It's not my fault that killing people anywhere and at any time is fun, and it's not my fault that there's a new weapon called The Penetrator. The fact that hitting random people in the street with a giant dildo on a stick is a lot of fun. It is.. I've done it, I did it at the recent London Expo. Haha.
In other news, the new Randomacious Video is available to watch. Check the links below for more. Phantasmal Bear has made its return, but luckily for me, Phil and Paul were on hand to destroy the damn thing. If you want to know why Phantasmal Bear is such a pain in my arse, I'll reveal all (not including my arse) very soon. Unless you ask Sam Denton.
I haven't had the chance to update my Links pages lately, so do me a favour and go check out my friends band, you just might like it. Abandoned Faith - This and more will be appearing on Links soon.

London MCM Expo Was Epic!
Another London Expo has come and gone. The weekend was a success as Great Britain took the crown in the Euro Cosplay Championships. The cosplays at Expo were all brilliant so everyone should be proud of their achievements over the weekend.
Caroline and myself cosplayed as Wally and Wenda from the popular but annoying series, Where's Wally. We got so many people say 'Found You!' and Caroline being at her first London Expo and cosplaying for the first time, she had a lot of fun and can't wait for 2012 Expos.
Thanks to everyone who made our weekend special. All the videos from the event are going on my channel now, and I'll have some on the Team Times channel as well very soon. You can read my blog in the Team Times section of this website.

Where's Wally.... Tonyo?
London MCM Expo is here. I will be cosplaying Wally, or Waldo if you're going for the alternative dimension version, and Caroline is going to be Wenda. We decided to cosplay as these two stealthy characters just two weeks ago. So if you're at Expo on Saturday and Sunday, come and say hello and get a photo or two.. if you can find us that is. I'm causing trouble elsewhere so if you're interested...

John Mann - The Sensible MP
I consider myself lucky to live in the Bassetlaw area with the Member of Parliament we have. John Mann MP does a fine job and wants the best for our community, area, and country. Every time I see him on TV, I agree with everything he says. This is why I won't be running against him in the next elections because I'd not stand a chance... instead, I'm going to Hallam to beat Nick Clegg, that should be easy.
The recent problems we're facing with the ConDem government are the cutting of Police, Fire and Hospital services. I got a letter the other day to fill in to support our community and try and stop these cuts which the ConDems are aiming to do. I'll be filling it in and sending it back to John as soon as I've made a video talking about the proposals for my YouTube channel. Just bare with me, I have to get over this damn flu first. But if all MP's were like John Mann, we'd have a great country again.

London MCM Friday Night Meet
I'm tidying up my event ideas list ready for the London MCM Expo in just over 2 weeks. The first one to be finalised is the Friday Night Meet where people can play Nintendo DS, Magic The Gathering and YuGiHo. It's also a chance for Team Times to get together and meet new people. It's all good. The next events that need work are the Saturday night Nerf War, Sunday nigght Football, and a good look at Namco for Thursday and see if there's any potential to be had there since Namco refused my Air Hockey Tournament to be filmed in 2009. All in all though, this will be a brilliant weekend.

Rooney is NOT a good role model
The Euro 2012 Football Qualifiers are almost at an end. Wayne Rooney's proving himself to be the tagret of all media and critics. The man is a complete idiot! He got sent off in the final qualifier against Montenegro, just because he can't hold back his temper. His dad has been in the news recently for fixing bets, and with Wayne's track record of being violent and sleeping with prostitutes, it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't know all about it. Yes folks, the hope for England in Euro 2012 is the worst possible role model for all our young football fans. COME ON SCOTLAND. Haha.

Whoovers - Evening with David Graham and Shane Rimmer
I don't mention events enough on my website, but I do like promoting fun stuffs. This Friday at The Voicebox in Derby, there's an evening with David Graham and Shane Rimmer. You can check exact details on the Whoovers website... www.whoovers.org.uk/ - So if you're a Doctor Who fan or into the classic Thunderbirds, then this is a night to meet some stars.
London Expo is just 3 weeks away, and I'm about to register our team for Battle of the Bloggers. It'll be just a two man team representing Team Times. Christopher and Paul. These two best friends are going to kick some ass and hopefully get to the finals at Memorabilia in November. I'm already thinking of Battle of the Bloggers for 2012, that'll be the year for Team Times and beyond.. and the end of the world I've heard. We'll have to wait and see about the latter.

London MCM Expo - One Month Left
The big event is only one month away. It'll be one of the saddest Expos for me as there's quite a few of my friends making this the last Expo. Due to health, money, or just wanting to change event, this will be the event where we have to have a ton of fun and make 2011 go out with a bang.
I'll be making the Pre-Expo video real soon talking about which guests will be appearing at Expo. Plus the events I'm making myself such as the Saturday Night Nerf War and the Friday Night Meet. Thursday will also have its fun as I'll be heading into London, which I haven't done for the last two Expos. THIS WILL BE AWESOME. Lots more news coming soon from the beginning of October, watch this space.

The Angry Truth Finale
After looking over the Tonyo Times YouTube channel, I see it's got a little depressing lately. I think with the introductiion of The Angry Truth, things have gotten a little silly and I'm giving opinions that just cause arguments. One made a very good debate and a comments video was filmed, and that's a good thing. But, with the title containing Angry, it doesn't really bring any good vibes. So the 20th episode will be the last one, and in the near future, a new series will start brining in debates and interacting more with the viewer. So not all bad news.
The London MCM Expo is with us in just 5 weeks time. I will be cosplaying, making brand new Game Corners there, and hopefully filming the Nerf War which still needs arranging. Should be a laugh. So if you're going to the Expo next month, get in touch, I'd love to know who you're cosplaying as, or what games you're looking forward to, or the least exciting thing.. the celebs. Haha, sorry celebrities, but you've taken a back seat to everything else. I don't think people want to pay £15 for your autographs, not really.

The Troll Hunter - Tonyo's Recommendation
The first I heard of this movie was at London MCM Expo, I got a t-shirt saying that The Troll Hunter was made in Norway and how awesome it is. They're not wrong either. It's subtitled and the whole movie is made to give you that sense that these trolls do exist. If you enjoy movies like Cloverfield, filmed as if anyone could have picked up a camcorder and made it, then you'll love this. I thought Cloverfield was ok, but this is a lot better. Not the movie of the year in my opinion, but definitely one worth going to the cinema for.
We have new Team Times stuff this week. Lindsey has joined up and will mostly be making videos. The team gets bigger and better.

The Legendary Hero at London MCM Expo
London MCM Expo is getting closer once again. In just over 7 weeks, a bunch of cosplayers will be having loads of laughs and a weekend of fun. I'll be going down to London on the Thursday and staying until Monday. The whole weekend will be ace, and just to make it a bit better, there will be a Tonyo Times Friday Night meet. If you're interested, keep an eye on this website, and the Tonyo Times YouTube channel. There will be games and a chance to meet some new friends.
I've been wondering what I'll be cosplaying for October Expo, and now I know. It's Caroline's first Expo at London so we're going to cosplay together. The only thing is, I'm not saying what our cosplays are until a week before the event, when I make the special Expo YouTube video. The only clue you have... it's a legendary hero and his missus. Can you guess who it'll be?

The First Ever TT Magic The Gathering League Champion
Great news this week. The first ever Magic The Gathering event took place, organised by Tonyo Times. Check out the Event section for the event results and photos. A special Team Times Magic League will take place at the London MCM Expo this October. It'll be awesome.
Congratulations to Phil who came out on top, getting the top Magic prize (being ripped apart by the man himself in the photo), and also congratulations to Caroline who won both multi-player games, coming out on top of a 5-player game, and later a 8-player. Very well done indeed.

NeverEnding Story to get remake in 2014
This will either ruin your childhood memories, or you'll be like me and be excited that they're finally remaking NeverEnding Story in 2014. I hate most remakes because they don't need it, and I dread the days when they remake Star Wars, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. But if there's a film that never aged well, and contained some of the worst acting ever, not to mention a rubbish sequel and a third movie that was a nail in the coffin for the whole story... yes, the remake with today's technology will be amazing, as long as they make it to go along with the book. I think I'm asking for a lot.
Team Times was a year old last week, and I did say there'd be a special cam show online earlier this week to celebrate. Apologies though, Tonyo just didn't have the time. When the show does finally start, it'll be advertised and dated on this news piece. Watch this space.

Team Times - One Year Old
It's been a year of Team Times already. The special blogging team who can make written blogs, videos, or both, have been around for a year. Things just keep getting better as well. At the first ever Manchester MCM Expo, 4 members of Team Times went on stage and battled another bunch of bloggers. We all know Team Times won, just watch the video. ;)
Going into the second year, a new webcam show will begin, as well as more projects by the team. Things just keep getting better and better. New members could possibly joining over the next few weeks as well. Keep an eye on this website, and make sure you subscribe to the channel.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Team Times. I hope you carry on enjoying what we do and follow us into 2012 which will be an epic year for the team.

Dead Island Is Coming!
Get ready for this one. My Xbox Live Left 4 Dead gang got bored of zombies because they got samey. Left 4 Dead and its sequel got tiresome and we ended up leaving the zombie world behind. If there's any game where we'll get back into zombie killing, it's Dead Island. It's out on 9th September for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Team Times is one year old this week. The new member profiles with links to all individual work is in progress. To celebrate the anniversary, I'll be doing a special cam show this coming Monday (22nd August) from 8pm. Links will be available soon on here, but more so on my Facebook with updated details.
Sadly, I won't be covering GAMEfest on 17th of September. Due to the cost of going to the event, it's impossible for me to go, unless I win the lottery, now that'd be nice.

The Scum of England
This week has been a bitch! An absolute and utter bitch! You watch the news, and all you see is riots, riots, and more sodding riots! Are these little imbeciles around England are smashing shops up, injuring Police Officers, and showing up the country. We have the Olympics next year and now we have to rebuild. I hope the world doesn't look at us as scum, because I'm feeling pretty ashamed of my homeland right now. STOP BEING DICKS! There's no law here!
In other news... this week, I'm just going to leave it at this. Bloody chavs and imigrants smashing my country up is enough news for one week.

Manchester MCM Expo... SUCCESS!
On 30th July 2011, the first ever Manchester MCM Expo took place. It was a smaller venue than say the Midlands Expo at Telford, but the crowds came flooding in. The day was brilliant, the cosplays and Masquerade were a lot of fun, and everyone had a great time. Caroline had her first Expo too, and she can't wait for London. Thanks to Stuart (The Claw) for congratulating us on stage and giving her a Penguin... his name is Stuart after the main man himself. Hehe. Photos coming soon. ;)
Team Times took on A Dog Ate My Wookie in Battle of the Bloggers. Myself along with other Team Times members, Ella (Momo), Chris and Sam did extremely well, but it all came down to the tie breaker where I didn't know the answer. Team Times will be back though and tougher than ever at MCM Expo. Watch this space, and make sure you keep an eye this website for future events. I can see 2012 being an epic year.
I'd like to thank everyone who took photos. Thanks to Dan Hardwick who took this photo, featuring me on stage with Stuart, and Ella sitting down thinking 'OH NO, WE'RE GOING TO FAIL'. Team Times didn't fail though, watch the video and decide for yourself... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5epTpy2-oyQ
Team Times is having a little revamp this month ready for the one year anniversary. If I have time, I will be making a new eBook to celebrate. There's lots happening, and now I'm getting ready to go to GAMEfest at Birmingham NEC on 17th of September 2011.

Manchester MCM Expo's Battle Of The Bloggers
The Manchester MCM Expo is getting closer now, and the good news is, Team Times will be entering the new competition held there called Battle Of The Bloggers. Click the picture to know more. Me (Tonyo), Ella, Chris, and Sam, have formed a team and will be taking on other Bloggers in a super stand-off. Team Times is aiming to be the best Bloggers in the UK. There will also be a team at London MCM Expo in October 2011 with different members of Team Times, and hopefully we'll reach the finals held at Memorabilia in November. This is most exciting.
This week, the new Team Times blogging page is up. There be a new blog kicking it off called Team Times Expands written by me. Harriet has also done a Hyper Japan blog talking about her experience at the event.
I will be trying to get a couple of videos done this week before Manchester Expo. I have a couple of Angry Truths up my sleeves, and I still haven't made the Pre-Expo video news. I've been a little busy doing other things this week but I will catch up. I've added a few new things this week which will be growing over time. The site never sleeps, and hopefully you'll enjoy all the crazy stuffs I've got coming up on Tonyo Times. :D

Manchester MCM Expo is just a week away!
On the 30th of July 2011, the first ever Manchester MCM Expo will be on! There's all the usual funs of an Expo, including celebrities such as Kenny Baker, Criag Carles, and Warwick Davis. The Cosplay Masquerade will also be a big feature, especially for me to film for Tonyo Times. Stuart Claw and Joe (Granny Gertrude) will be hosting. Unfortunately for Joe, he's now known as The Queen Of Cosplay. What an honour that is. Haha.
London MCM Expo is also a thing to talk about. I'm organising a meet for Friday evening (28th October 2011) which will hopefully see teams of 4 coming along for a Mario Kart DS Tournament. More rules will be coming before the event but it will contain a little bit of gambling. Also, a big game of multi-player Magic The Gathering will be on. It'll be a highlight of the weekend, especially for the winners.
Team Times' Harriett and Paul have written blogs this week. There's a couple of changes happening on Team Times in the next couple of weeks but it'll still have all the goodness of written stuff and videos, but perhaps in a slightly different way. The next topic starting on 13th of August will be about books, that could turn out very interesting indeed.
In other little bits of Tonyo Times news. I'll be adding a cosplay page showing off what I've done over the years, just got to pull my finger out and do that. I'll also be attending GAMEfest on 17th of September at Birmingham NEC and checking out all the new gaming stuff, and filming as much as I can for special editions of Game Corner. Keep an eye on the site, more news coming soon.

Games Characters and Magic The Gathering
This week sees Team Times doing the first ever topic about Games Characters. Read material from Jodie, Caroline, Harriett, Luna, Ella, and Katie. Katie has added a lot more about cosplay and events, while Ruth has made a dream blog where dreams can come true, and Michelle's made a lifey blog. There's also a video by Caroline and me (Tonyo), and there's a couple of others that aren't about games characters from Chris and Luke.
This week is rather epic. Harry Potter's final flick is coming to the cinemas, and on the same weekend, Magic: The Gathering will have a new 2012 release of cards. So get those decks prepared, it's going to be an even bigger endless war!

Games Characters Week on Team Times
Updates this week are two brand new videos from me on TonyoTimes - Randomacious Two has hit the shelves and could be a little controversial, telling my own version of Three Little Pigs to a child, but at least he couldn't understand it so maybe I got away with it?
New updates from Team Times are from myself, Michelle and Luna. Go check those new blogs out now because they're ace. Also, new videos from me again, Michelle and a couple from Chris on the TeamTimes channel. All the latest links are below so make sure you have a gander.
Starting tomorrow on the Team Times channel is The Topic, the first one being about Games Characters. Not the most original idea but it's a start. It will be on all week so all members can upload a video or three, and the written stuff will be on this very website this Tuesday (12th July). I hope The Topic takes off and we all have a lot of fun with this new monthly watsit.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon
The topic of the week must be the new Transformers movie. it's one of the most watched trailers this year, and you can discover why it's called Dark of the Moon. Michelle and Sam have made something for Team times this week talking about the new film. It's going to be the biggie of the year along with the final Harry Potter movie.
Only a few weeks until Manchester MCM Expo. Hopefully everyone's got their cosplays ready for the 30th of July for the first ever Manchester event. There will be games to be played as well, and loads of funs top be had. I'm also looking at going to the GAMEfest in September, if only for a day, but it's on the cards because it's looking to be the biggest gaming event of the year.
Team Times updates this week are by Sam, Michelle, Harriett, Ruth and Kimi....... and also check the Team Times channel for new videos by Sam, Phil and Tonyo (That's me). If you like YuGiHo, Green Lantern and Kung Fu Panda, it's worth a visit. More so if you like trading cards and card games. On the 9th of July, the first ever theme will kick off with Team Times talking about games characters. That week will be immense.

Polska Times
Tonyo be in Poland now, so any updates will all be Polska related, including some new videos when I find the time to make them and put them up. The brand new series, Randomacious, will be starting in Poland, and I'll be making some video blogs for Team Times as well.
New updates this week from Team Times are from Luna and myself. The cosplay mood is still in swing, and with Manchester Expo coming up for a lot of us, it has to be. Kaido is coming back to town! Also, check out Kimi's SMTown and Kpop videos on the Team Times channel.
In other news. Caroline and moi went to a place called Pruchnik and even though I took a few photos of scenery, I've opted to put a photo of a tractor on the homepage news. Hell yes, look how cool that is. Haha.

It sounds like an amazing trip, so check Kimi's page to see what she got up to, including special photos.

The First Ever Manchester MCM Expo
In just a few weeks, the first Manchester MCM Expo will take place. The questions are already coming in. Will it become as big as the London event? Will it be as kind and calm as the Midlands Expo? Will Craig Charles still attend and charge a fortune for his ink signing scribblings? All will be answered soon. I'm considering whether I'll cosplay or not, but if I do, Kaoru Kaido might come out to play tennis! It's the season for it in the UK with Wimbledon coming up.
Team Times has changed a little this week. The Gamers and Bloggers have gone, and now we're just in a place called Team Times. Members can write anything, make videos on the channel, or both.

Team Times Evolves Soon
Things have been really busy recently in the world of Tonyo. Before Expo, wedding plans were being arranged which took a lot of time, and then Expo came and went, then after that it was a week of editing and uploading.
All being well, from next week, Team Times will have a full revamp. The YouTube channel folks and the Bloggers will merge, and the Gamers section will be no more. All the material won't be wasted, everything will be archived on the site and still accessible.
From July, Caroline and myself will be happily married instead of happily engaged, and we'll both be sorting out plans for Manchester Expo. So until next week, everyone be happy and enjoy the sunshine, it's happy days.

London MCM Expo... WAS AMAZING!
This last weekend, I went to the London MCM Expo, held at the ExCeL Centre. It was the 9th time I've attended the London event, and as usual stayed there from Thursday to Monday so I could take in the whole weekend. I met up with my friends, had a natter with a lot of different people from cosplayers to games industry folk, and I spent more money than I could afford on anime. The weekend was great.
The event starts on a Friday for weekend ticket holders, and then the big day is Saturday when you can't move for people but everything is happening. Sunday is a relaxing day and you need it after two epic days of cosplay and buying stuff. Three days of Expo and every day was ace.
In the photo, thanks to Joe (Granny Gertrude), I got snapped with Beckii Cruel, who's famous for dancing on YouTube and making it big in Japan. I went and had a chat with her because I'm a fellow YouTuber and anime fan, and I also recorded her 50 minute performance which will be on my channel soon.
My videos are going on Tonyo Times as I type, and as you read. Starting with the Masquerades from Saturday and Sunday, there will also be a new series of Game Corner, and Expo editions of The Angry Truth. You'll also get wander videos, and a few extra bits and bobs. All in all, a brilliant Expo, and I can't wait for Manchester on the 30th of July, and then again to London at the end of October.
In other news... Team Times will be getting a revamp soon. It'll only get bigger and better.
