So I went to have my baby scan on the 23rd of Janurary. This time Jake was with me which was nice. I thought he was going to faint as he does when he gets really excited but he didn't which was good (though he said he was close lol). When I had the scan I couldn't believe how much the baby had grown by.
It really shocked me how much I could see the features. The baby was healthy which I was obvouisly pleased about. I then asked if she could tell me the most possible sex of the baby (I knew there was a 5% chance of her being wrong) she went to said area and went "Oh my god yep its a boy defo a boy can you see that" she then pointed at his huge winky lol. So yeah I'm having a boy and I couldn't be happier I'm going to name it after my Grandad. David Kingsley Lote-Smith, though the cheeky sod knows about how to get its own way already. We wanted a nice picture but David was looking right at the camera, it actually creeped the midwife out a bit haha. I was rubbing to try and get it to move and then said "if you move for mummy you'll get an extra xmas present..."....what do you know it moved straight away, can't believe it. After doing my scan I had to get blood tests done. I was nervous as hell as I hate needles and the last tests I got down at Southend hurt like hell and made me have a huge bruise cause they couldn't find a good vein. My god though this lady was amazing she failed the first time but got it the second time and I have no bruise now and we managed to get all the blood samples done. When I got back home I phoned my dad up and told him and my sister was over the moon cause that meant she was still daddys little girl lol. We talked for a few and then hung up. Five minutes later the phone rang it was my dad to ring me back. "Rachel, it wasn't going to be anything else it had to be a boy I only noticed it when I wrote it down on the calendar" "what?" I was starting to get worried "What day is today" "the 23rd" I'm rubbish with dates so I still didn't have a clue as to what he was on about "it's grandad's birthday today"...........I was silent and was crying with happiness then went "oh my god" Grandad may not be with us anymore but he is still watching over us. I'm still in shock now and get a bit emotional when I talk about it but it has made me so happy.
